History of Galv-a-Dock

Waterfront Specialties Inc. has been in business for over 30 years as the manufacturer of  Galv-a-Dock. The system was initiated in the Lake Minnetonka area west of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 1940’s.  Utilizing a steel framework, while floating on a barrel, it was the first dock to be easily installed and removed without getting wet.  The popularity of this system grew through the years, until it was well established around the shores of Lake Minnetonka. The corporation is engaged primarily in the manufacturing and distribution of portable boat docks, slips, boathouses and accessories to its dealers.

Jeffrey A. Fox, President of Waterfront Specialties, Inc. designed and engineered the Galv-a-Dock system. This is the first completely galvanized dock system utilizing a 55 gallon barrel for the purpose of efficient, above water method of installation and removal, as viewed on our Galv-a-Dock video.
